Hi there! Welcome once again to another blog post. I hope all of you are doing great! Excited for Thanksgiving already?
Here in Canada we already celebrated Thanksgiving. And for my US friends is right around the corner.
Many of you were surprised when I told you on Instagram that we don’t have this tradition back in my home country, Spain! But since moving to Canada, I try to celebrate it and love it. I love everything it involves: the family and friends gatherings, cooking, decorating the house, chatting, relaxing and playing board games long after the dinner…
Having a good dinner with people you love in a good environment it’s an amazing way to remind yourself what you feel grateful for in life. In the end, this is the most important: to feel the gratitude.
Today I am sharing with you 9 things I feel grateful for. Hopefully, you will feel identified with them.
I feel grateful for…
1.My friends and family
Every person that you have in your life that makes you feel loved it’s something to be grateful about. Doesn’t matter if they are your real family or the family that through the years you have chosen. Thanks to them, you know you have the ability to love back.
2. My mistakes
Each and everyone of them has helped me grow. Without them, maybe I wouldn’t be the person I am now. I feel much wiser and stronger than a few years ago.
3. My identity
I have a place in the world. The fact is, that with my virtues and weaknesses, there is no one else like me in the world. I am unique, and so are you. Take advantage of that.
4. My body
It’s able, healthy and responsive, and for that I feel grateful. Your body is yours alone: take care of it the way it deserves. Health should never be taken for granted.
5. Nature
No one can take from us the magical moments that nature can give you: a peaceful sunset, a relaxing walk in the woods, a refreshing swim in the sea, seeing how the seasons change…All of this is happening in front you, and it is free!
6. Diversity
Nowadays we have the possibility of getting to know other cultures by traveling and meeting new people. This is an amazing way to become more open minded, to understand yourself to the fullest and enjoy life. Accepting other religions and cultural backgrounds will make you achieve personal growth.
7. The kindness of strangers
I am sure it happens everyday, but maybe we are too self-centred to see it. When someone smiles at you (even through the mask, you can still see it!) or when a person stays for a few seconds and holds up the door for you. These are details that can really make a difference.
8. Music, fashion, art
They express what cannot be put into words. Although it may seem frivolous, it doesn’t have to be put that way: music can bring back memories, art can understand you, fashion can help you celebrate! As long as it gives a spark to your life, hold on to it and use it as a support.
9. I am alive
Life is a beautiful journey and I am part of it. I am here now, I have this moment. As long as I am still alive, I can decide, I can start from scratch, I can get anything I want! Never stop trying.
What would you put as the 10th thing to be grateful for? There are soooo many.
No matter how hard life gets, there is always something to feel grateful for. I encourage you to take time today and everyday to practice gratitude and give thanks for the simple things in life.
