Hola chicas! I am so happy to see you around here once again! Ready to talk about Christmas movies??
Can I say it already?? Yes! It’s Christmas time!
Everything is decorated everywhere: the trees are all set with presents under them and the lightings are on: it’s such a delight to walk the streets at night and see how everything sparks. You can also smell it: markets and shops are full of delicious treats and sometimes, you can even get the scent of just baked cookies from inside some houses. The soundtrack of the streets are festive tunes and carols, people are running around trying to get last-minute gifts, families go out all together to the ice skating rinks and to the tree farm to get the perfect tree!
This season gives me such a warm and fuzzy feeling. I think it’s the perfect time to stop all of the hustle and bustle that we experience the rest of the year and relax. Maybe that’s why one of my favourite plans for the holidays is to stay in…and watch movies!
It’s so cold outside. The temptation of a cozy blanket, a warm cup of hot chocolate and a bowl of popcorn it’s really compelling. Don’t you agree?
For those of you who feel the same way I do: I made the ultimate list of Christmas movies to watch these holidays. It is a compilation of Disney, romantic comedies and modern classics.
Hope you enjoy it!
FROZEN
So now this sequel has four movies, but I recommend you to start from the beginning (the first movie from 2013). Princess Anna teams up with mountain man Kristoff and his reindeer Sven to find her sister Elsa. Elsa’s icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arandelle in an eternal winter. In this path to find Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Sven will find hazards like trolls and friends like Olaf, an hilarious snowman. 100% family friendly and very fun to watch!

LOVE ACTUALLY
Although it’s very likely that you have already watched it, I have to add it here! Since this movie was launched in 2003 it has been a reference for all of the romantic comedies that came afterwards. This movie follows 9 different stories that are connected by love. Among the characters: a crazy rock and roll legend, a boy that is experiencing his first love, a just married couple and their friends, a tormented writer, a prime minister and his secretary…and more!

HOME ALONE
An indispensable movie to watch this and every Christmas! You won’t even have to download it or look for it on any platform. They are going to put the full series on TV for sure! Kevin’s family accidentally leave him home alone for Christmas… and the rest is history!

THE FAMILY STONE
An uptight businesswoman accompanies her boyfriend to his eccentric and outgoing family’s annual Christmas party. She quickly realizes that she doesn’t fit in her boyfriend’s family. Along Christmas, a lot of tensions with different members of the family are created, and she ends up calling up her sister and inviting her for emotional support. Will they be able to put aside their differences or will everything end up storming off?

THE HOLIDAY
A couchsurfing story: Iris, from England, and Amanda, from California, swap homes for the Christmas holidays. Both of them come from a similarly unlucky love situation and they need a break that can only come with new fresh air. Soon enough, they will bump into local lads that will make them believe in romanticism again.

12 DATES OF CHRISTMAS
Groundhog day but at Christmas time! Kate relives the same first date on Christmas eve over and over again. In an attempt to win back his ex-boyfriend, she ends up ruining a blind date with a very attractive guy she’s been set up with. Which one will she end up with?

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: THE ENCHANTED CHRISTMAS
Such a gift for the nostalgics like me: a Disney classic recreated at Christmas time! Belle and Beast are in the midst of the holiday season. While Belle loves getting into the Christmas spirit, Beast is not so excited about it…Get ready to meet new characters and to reunite with the old ones : Lumiere, Chip, Mrs Potts and Cogsworth, they are all there!

MR POPPER’S PENGUINS
Mr Popper is a successful real estate developer in Manhattan. He lives in an apartment in Park Avenue and has an icy relationship with his ex-wife and kids due to all the time he spends working (also the reason for their break up). However, his life changes radically when he receives a very unexpected final gift from his late-father: a live penguin. Even though in the beginning Mr Popper is not happy at all with this present, soon he will start realising about values he had lost in the past and he will learn how to enjoy life again.

LET IT SNOW
A huge snowstorm hits a small town on Christmas eve. As a consequence, a group of high school students are brought up together for the night. Everyone of them has different insecurities and voids to fill, and they will find their friendships and love lives colliding at one point. On Christmas morning, nothing will ever be the same. You can watch it on Netflix!

LAST CHRISTMAS
Kate is an aspiring singer who works as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop in London. After her flatmate quicks her out, she is forced to come back to her parents home. Nothing seems to be working out for her until she meets Tom. As the city transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, their attraction to each other will grow until they fall in love.

What do you think? Are you going to join me in my marathon? It’s going to be so much fun!
Don’t forget to have everything ready for the movie night! As I mentioned before, a cozy blanket, popcorn and hot chocolate are essential… or maybe you prefer some good wine? You can also light up some candles for some aromatherapy, use a projector and set up the speakers to have a full home cinema experience!

But remember the most important thing is being comfortable with whoever you are going to spend the afternoon with. Friends, family, boyfriend, husband…or with yourself!
