Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice summer! I can’t believe summer in Canada is just arriving now (but better late than never!). I came back from almost a month vacation in Spain with my boyfriend and as soon as we were back, we were already missing the food over there so decided to go try a Meditarrean restaurant in Toronto. The restaurant has influences from Spain, France, and Italy.
The place is beautiful for a nice dinner, drinks or to celebrate any special occasion. I absolutely loved the ambience. And the service is just amazing! The waitresses and manager enhance your experience at Ricardas. They kitchen is open concept so you can request to sit up close and watch the chefs cook your meal from one of the experience booths.
It is located at 134 Peter St inside the QRC West Building (in the Toronto Entertainement District). Can you believe this heritage building used to be the Weston Biscuit factory in 1990s??!!
They have amazing tapas and dishes including a wide selection of Mediterranean-style pasta, flatbreads, and more.
We started with some tapas: ham croquetas and pan-fried prawns. The prawns were absolutely delicious, probably my favorite ones in Toronto so far… very tasty! The croquetas were good but not my favorite. Croquetas in Spain are made with béchamel and not cheese, so this was very different for me.
Then as main dish, I got Dry-Aged Black Angus Sirloin with garlic-rosemary butter… and let me tell you it was AMAZING! So tender and cooked just how I like it.
And tiramisu for dessert. It was honestly delicious! We finished it in no time!
To conclude dinner we had a cocktail. I had a margarita while listening to fantastic live music. Ricarda’s hosts live music every Friday and Saturday at Attico and in the restaurant. There’s a separate bar and cocktail lounge adjacent to the main dining room and a bakery and café with a grab-and-go counter.
We had a super pleasant and wonderful dinner at Ricarda´s and we will definitely be back. Now I want to go back for brunch as I learned Ricarda’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Saturday.
Every Sunday Ricarda’s hosts Jazz Brunch with a live three-piece band. This would be a nice start to the day for my boyfriend´s birthday coming up!
